The Laurels of DeKalb is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center located in the cozy residential neighborhood of Butler, Ind. The Laurels is dedicated to promoting the highest level of care and quality of life for guests seeking extended stays or short-term respite, rehabilitation or hospice care, all while providing an atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home.

The 2019 Indiana Long-Term Facility of the Year, The Laurels of DeKalb is the premier senior care provider in the state of Indiana. The facility received a 2019 Silver Quality Award from the American Health Care Association (AHCA) for its commitment to improving quality of care in long term and post-acute care and has successfully achieved five-consecutive deficiency free surveys from the Indiana State Department of Health. Since 2017, it has been awarded a No. 1 ranking through AHCA’s Top Line Report in Indiana.

At The Laurels of DeKalb, we provide quality services to both short-term and long-term guests. Our motto, Sooner, Safer, Stronger, signifies our goal for the way each of our short-term rehab guests transitions from hospital to home. We also offer home-based therapy after discharge. 

We are leaders in longer-term skilled nursing care, as well. We consider our extended-stay guests part of the Laurel family, and we keep them engaged to the fullest with events, activities, and birthday and holiday celebrations that often include their families. Above all that, we consider them our cherished friends. 

The Laurels of DeKalb also has Northeast Indiana’s premier Memory Care Unit for Alzheimer’s care, where we provide a secured, home-like environment that promotes guests’ interaction with staff and their families.
